What Did We Do, Week 2.featuring William L. Jeffers I am William L. Jeffers, also known as BigWill. I am a lifelong resident of Mason County, West Virginia after my father’s family migrated from Franklin County, Ohio to Buffalo, Putnam County, West Virginia. I graduated from Hannan Jr./Sr. High School in 2004 before attending one and one-half years at Rio Grande Community college then automotive training at Collins Career Center. After one year at Collins, I went to work for Massey Energy in the coal mines and then again on the mine reclamation crew. I am now married, with children in a variety of mean and families, the eldest of which is my son Samuel Matthew and my daughter Leia Suzanne. My wife, Billie Jean is by far my largest support system. I began my lust for the written word at a young age. I read anything and everything that my vision could perceive. From tragic signs, street names, children’s literature, to college level reading material. My grasp for reading comprehension started strong and only grew as my love for reading overlapped any other passion. At the age of six, my parents bought me the first of five typewriters from the Milton Flea Market. After acquiring ink ribbons and mistake tape, I began the first manuscript of my writing passion. A quirky mystery series starring two young teen men and a teen girl. I even branded my novels with a publication I devised for my own amusement, Horron Moon Publishing. Life interrupted my passion for a good many years with tragedy, adult hood, love and loss. I strayed from my perceived purpose until I reached a point in my life where I once again had the time and ability to sit and allow my creativity to fill the empty document pages of not a typewriter, but now my own person laptop my loving and supportive wife managed to purchase for my endeavors. I am in a position in life where I am surrounded by supportive friends and family who not only encourage my passions but enjoy the works I create and aid me in bringing them to life. My wife is foremost, but not standing alone. I have the most loving and supportive circle of peers who are constantly lifting me up and not allowing me to be my worst critic. I have only begun my career as an author with full ambitions of finding a literary agent or proper traditional publisher. Until I can accomplish that, I am content with self-publishing and working towards my inevitable goal of being a proper published author. I write a variety of genres in horror/suspense, fantasy, mystery, romantic drama, comedy, and one autobiography my friends and family encouraged me to write.
