April Pyles, grew up in Mason County West Virginia but graduated in 1963 from Huntington East High School in Cabell County WV. Playing clarinet in the band was one of her greatest pleasures in school, but reading and writing have been her chief interests most of her life. She often writes articles for the various clubs in which she is a member and enjoys researching local history, but she has never aspired to write the Great American Novel. April and her husband, both retired, make their home in Gallipolis Ferry, WV. April writes articles about the writers guild for the local newspaper, many of her columns are adapted as posts for this blog. She has short stories and poems in three of the guilds books: "Short Scary Stories," "Recipes and Remembrances," and "Tales From the Attic". All available from amazon.com.
