Books We Have Published

The Point Pleasant Writers Guild has published five books as a group. The first, "Appalachian Heart", was printed locally and hand assembled and stapled by the members and authors when they were still known as the “Wanna-be Writers of West Virginia and Ohio” in 2006. In 2012 it was re-published through amazon.com and is available in paperback. “Short Scary Stories,” a dark anthology, was published in 2007. The intoduction to “Short Scary Stories”describes the writers of the guild. “ Each contributor is unique, with his or her own unique experiences, views, personality and style; the only thing many of us have in common is that we belong to the Guild and love to write.” “Sampler,” published in 2008, is “more than a sampling of writing from the members of the Point Pleasant Writers Guild, it is also a sampling of the members as people, and of the diversity of style, viewpoint and subject matter that is reflective of them.” (from the introduction) “Recipes and Rememberances, Food for the Body, Mind, and Spirit,” 2012, is a collection of stories, poems, quotes and, of course, recipes; nostalgia, humor and uplifting memories from the members of the Point Pleasant Writers Guild. “Tales From The Attic” published in 2013 was conceived as a contribution book. The guild requested submissions from all who wished to send an entry of writings that may have been written and put away, the writer never having done anything with their precious treasures. The Writers Guild compiled these entries and put them into this book. The contributers to these books are not only those we have highlighted in the last seven weeks but many more past and present members. All of these books are available at amazon.com.
