Untitled Song by Carol Newberry
Originally published in "Sampler" 2008
Sing of heroes and fair maidens won;/
Of enemies fought and battles done./
Tell of the cause, of the flag, the cost/
The dragons slain, of gold and dross.//
Defend to the death the castle keep./
The watchman guards and does not sleep./
The gate is strong, it shall prevail./
The night is silent, all is well.//
Sing songs of love to the one you adore./
Promise love everlasting and forevermore./
Tell of beauty and strength and of eyes like pools./
Of a loss of clear mind and actions of fools.//
Sing songs of the Spirit, sing of His praise./
With joy and dancing, let voices be raised./
Sing of faith and of hope, of trust and duty,/
Of mountains moved and truth and beauty.//
Sing songs of life, of all that is you./
Of passion and longing, and all that you do./
Sing songs, sing songs of all that is done,/
Of days gone by and days to come.
